Tuesday 7th January 2020 This was our first and only day of being introduced to the production of music videos before starting on our big project. As we all got into college that morning we were put into small groups by our tutor Danniella and given the task of recreating an artist's music video.  I was put into a group with Sam Liddell and Joe Mitchell (Joe hadn't arrived just yet so me and Sam started the work together). We were given a brief and lyrics to a song and also asked to watch the original music video to this song. The song was Jessie J's  "Who's Laughing Now ". We were first asked to read through the brief and understand what J's requests for the video were. J made it clear that she wanted it to link back to the lyrics of her song, which discuss about her adolescence and when she was bullied at school. Unit 5: Investigating Audio Production and Technology - Task 1: Production File and Analysis - Podcast

Comparison and Analysis of Two Podcasts The podcasts that I have compared and analysed are "Black Girl Film Club" and "The Bechdel Cast" I thought it would be a good idea to look at these two podcasts in particular as they include female hosts discussing their opinions and perspectives of films, as well as discussing about female representation, if it is realistic enough and if they represent female minorities. The episodes from both podcasts I have listened to are: "Black Girl Film Club" - Episode 34: Booksmart (2019) "The Bechdel Cast" - Booksmart with Vanessa Chester I decided to pick to episodes from each podcast about the same film to see if they both have the same opinions and thoughts on the 2019 film "Booksmart" (directed by Olivia Wilde), as well as how the hosts perceive the film and if they believe this is an accurate representation of women.  "Booksmart" is a film about overachieving best frien...

Wednesday 22nd January 2020 - Shoot Day 1 Crew: Co-Directors - Harriet Parvin (me) and Tom Swales D.O.P - Amiliyah Ashraf Camera Operator - Sam Liddell Cast: Fighter (main character) - Tom Swales After our unfortunate day before, this was now our first real shoot day. Before we headed over to Tom's house, where we were filming the training scenes, we first grabbed some equipment from the studio. Taking a camera, microphone, fig rig, and an LED camera light. We also made sure we had all of our pre-production work with us, to look back at notes of particular shots we were going to get that day. We also made sure that we all had brought our SD cards, as we needed a main SD card and then a backup just in case the other one stopped working.  We then headed over to Tom's house and as soon as we got there we started to set everything up.
