Unit 6: Investigating Visual Production and Technology & Unit 7: Investigating Interactive Production and Technology - Oscars Rundown

I only did one segment for the Oscars Rundown, but I didn't mind as the one I did is a subject that I am very passionate about when it comes to film. The segment I decided to do was Sexism in film and the Oscars as it seems to be a running theme that mostly men get the nominations, and wins, and women get little recognition when it comes to their amazing achievements in filmmaking and what they have produced throughout the year.  This year was much better with 44% of nominations going to women and the other 56% going to men, so the nominations are almost equal. I especially wanted to make light of the issue as at this year's Oscars, Greta Gerwig was massively snubbed a nomination for Best Director for her beautiful adaptation of "Little Women", as well as all of the nominations for Best Director went to men: Bong Joon-Ho - "Parasite" (out of all the nominees he definitely deserved it as Parasite was a brilliant film) Sam Mend...

Unit 4: Critical and Contextual Awareness in Creative Media Production - Task 4: Post-Production Diary - Music Video

Editing the music video first started with putting all of the fight scene together, this was to make it easier when needing to put cuts and other shots in-between as we wanted to keep the fight in chronological order to fit the story line from the start of the fight all the way to the end (which is also the very end of the music video). We had also worked around lighting a lot during filming and having the music video in black and white heightened the exposure of light onscreen and also ...

Tuesday 7th January 2020 This was our first and only day of being introduced to the production of music videos before starting on our big project. As we all got into college that morning we were put into small groups by our tutor Danniella and given the task of recreating an artist's music video.  I was put into a group with Sam Liddell and Joe Mitchell (Joe hadn't arrived just yet so me and Sam started the work together). We were given a brief and lyrics to a song and also asked to watch the original music video to this song. The song was Jessie J's  "Who's Laughing Now ". We were first asked to read through the brief and understand what J's requests for the video were. J made it clear that she wanted it to link back to the lyrics of her song, which discuss about her adolescence and when she was bullied at school. She mainly wanted her video to show a younger version of her to rise above those who hurt her and didn't stop her from makin...
