Unit 9: Characteristics and Contexts in Media and Communication - Task 2.1: Pre-Production Diary - Hallmark Christmas Film
After a large amount of time off college, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we were finally able to come back and start the second, and last, academic year of our course. Along with our teacher, Kelly, announcing to us we would be doing an immersive cinema experience, we were also told we would first be creating a Christmas film during our first term back. The previous year we had worked alongside the Year 2's during the production of their own adaptation of 'A Christmas Carol' and Kelly thought it would be a great idea for us to do our own Christmas film, but there was a twist. We had to create a film that is in the style of a Hallmark Channel 'made for TV Christmas movie'. Due to the restrictions enforced by the Government, we were told that we would mainly be able to film on the college campus rather than a usual on location shoot, so the film had to be in a more modern day setting and time period.
